Visit Festival Classique in Scheveningen

The 11th edition of Festival Classique will take place in Scheveningen from 15 to 25 June, 2017: the festival that brings together both young and old, seasoned and new audiences to enjoy a richly varied programme of classical music.

Festival Classique has programmed an unprecedented number of new performances for this eleventh festival edition, which will take place in the vibrant heart of Scheveningen. Diverse cultural forces will team up on stage, influencing and enriching each other. This summer Festival Classique will present more than one hundred performances and concerts in the Kurhaus, on the Pier and the boulevard and this year for the first time also at the harbour and in Holland Casino Scheveningen. Performing artists will include the Hague Philharmonic Orchestra in collaboration with the fashion designer Michael Barnaart van Bergen, de Nederlandse Reisopera, double bassist Dominic Seldis and singer-songwriter Karsu. This year, a new festival feature will be the Ferris wheel concerts: an exclusive and extraordinary experience providing a superb, panoramic view.

Be sure to bring your children with you, as the festival offers a special family programme with a range of performances for babies, infants and toddlers. There is also the Haags Kindergala (The Hague Children’s Gala) for children aged between 5 and 12 years old, featuring the performance Tijgers op de Trap.

Naturally, there will once again be numerous free performances given on the boulevard and the Gevers Deynootplein during the Fringe Festival.
