The International Whiskey Festival in The Hague is an absolute must for whisky lovers! During the multi-day event, both experienced and novice whisky drinkers can enjoy hundreds of different types of whisky from well-known producers in the beautiful setting of the Grote Kerk. Stroll past the various stalls with your tasting glass during the International Whiskey Festival, take part in master classes and learn more about this drink of the gods!

If you want to visit the Whisky Festival you can choose from one of five sessions. With your entrance ticket you can taste whisky, talk about whisky and learn more about whisky during such a session for 4 hours.

After entering the Great Church, you will receive a Tasting Glass so you can start enjoying the whisky on offer at the various booths. There are many free whisky tastings, called drams in Scots. If you want to taste more exclusive/older whiskies, the stallholder will charge a fee for that.

Big Church

The Big Church, the Church of St. James, is the city church of The Hague. Most of the royal family's wedding and christening ceremonies took place in the Grote Kerk. Since the completion of a major renovation in 1987, the church now serves as a venue for exhibitions, fairs and festive events.

The Grote Kerk is easily accessible by streetcar and bicycle. There are many parking options for cars in the area. The parking garage Noordeinde in Heulstraat, the parking garage Torengarage and the parking garage City Parking are the closest parking garages. From Central Station you can walk to the Grote Kerk in 15 minutes. And several streetcars stop near the Grote Kerk.
