The Residentie Orkest wishes you a Merry Christmas, celebrating heavenly sounds. They invite you to the traditional Christmas concert to help celebrate the most wonderful time of the year. The dynamic brass ensemble makes the most of the phenomenal acoustics of the Nieuwe Kerk. They also accompany the boys of the Hague Matrozen Choir. Their pure voices perform classic carols and famous Christmas songs. We will close the year in style, both instrumentally and vocally. The Hague Matrozenkoor has been around since 1928 and offers boys as young as seven a broad musical education. It teaches them to have fun and self-confidence from an early age and to build harmony together. The choir thus passes on classical music over and over again, with Christmas carols being a regular feature every year. Conductor Peter van der Leeuw and the wind players of the Residentie Orkest are only too happy to assist this young generation.
