Vlaggetjesdag ('Flag Day') Scheveningen is an event that has been heralding the arrival of the Hollandse Nieuwe herring year after year. On this day, of course, this type of fish takes centre stage. But even for non-fish lovers, Vlaggetjesdag in Scheveningen harbour offers plenty to do with music, orchestras, bands, artists, old sailing loggers, miniature ships, round trips and various demonstrations.

Day full of activities

Vlaggetjesdag Scheveningen is visited by hundreds of thousands of people every year. There is plenty to do for young and old at this event in Scheveningen Harbour. Feast your eyes on the naval pageant where countless large and small fishing vessels set sail, creating a spectacle at sea.

Bring back memories at the Old Dutch Children's Games where children play the games grandpa's and grandma's used to play. Go back in time at the Scheveningen Scene and Village, with photos and postcards and demonstrations of Scheveningen crafts. And of course bite and test the new herring during Vlaggetjesdag!
