A magical Christmas production in The Hague

THE HAGUE – This year, The Hague-based dance company De Dutch Don’t Dance Division (DeDDDD) presents a world premiere at Amare. From 25 to 28 December, audiences of all ages can enjoy Ratatouille the Ballet: Linguini’s Christmas Menu. With this new production, DeDDDD continues a cherished Christmas tradition: annual sold-out performances that bring families together for a magical and heartwarming Christmas experience. Previous successes such as The Nutcracker, A Christmas Carol, and Alice in Escherland have firmly established this tradition as a staple of The Hague’s Christmas celebrations.

A heartwarming tale in a wintry The Hague

DeDDDD adds a unique twist to the beloved story of Linguini, a young chef who, with the help of a rat, becomes a culinary master. This enchanting dance production is set in a picturesque, wintry The Hague and culminates in a festive Christmas feast. With the vibrant music of Karen Khachaturian’s ballet Cipollino, the performance promises a dazzling mix of humour, emotion, and spectacular dance.

Artistic director Thom Stuart on Ratatouille the Ballet: Linguini’s Christmas Menu

“This mega-production is an enormous challenge, but what a joy it is to create a brand-new, full-length narrative ballet after five years, with so much dance talent and an incredible creative team!” says Thom Stuart, artistic director of DeDDDD. “This is our 19th Christmas production, and each time, it feels just as thrilling and amazing. It’s truly the highlight of the theatre season.”

Help bring the enchanting costumes of Ratatouille to life

For this production, 154 unique costumes are being designed by Rinus Sprong and brought to life by a passionate team led by Cindy Innemee, Bernadette Kijzers, Daan Wieman, and Donna Campen. These costumes play a vital role in bringing the performance to life. To make these magical creations a reality, a crowdfunding campaign runs through Voordekunst, targeting €12,000.
