Being part of a community that values learning and cultural exchange
The cheerful Ania is originally from Poland, but she has been living in the Netherlands for many years now. Ania is currently working as a supporting member at the Language Institute TaalTaal in Scheveningen.
Ania thinks it is very important that students feel at home at TaalTaal. She refers to her own background: "A long time ago I felt just like the TaalTaal students who were not born in the Netherlands. Having moved to the Netherlands at a young age, I know how challenging it can be to adapt to a new country, culture and language. That experience taught me how important it is to feel welcomed and supported, especially when you’re far from home. That is why I have found passion and inspiration working at a language school!"
Working at a language school gives Ania the opportunity to make a real impact, not just by assisting students in navigating their learning journey, but also by fostering a supportive and welcoming environment. She adds: "My role contributes to their success, builds connections, and helps to create a space where students and staff can grow and thrive. I find it rewarding to be part of a community that values learning and cultural exchange. As a person, I always try to create a warm, encouraging environment for everyone who walks through our doors. I believe learning a language is about more than just communication—it’s about opening yourself up to a new culture and feeling connected to the world around you."
For Ania, her role is more than just managing schedules or answering questions—it’s about being part of someone’s journey to adapt, grow, and thrive in a new environment. She smiles: "It’s incredibly satisfying to know that in my own way, I’m helping others build a brighter future for themselves." Working at a language institute is in itself certainly a unique experience; at a language school, teachers and staff are constantly sharing their experiences and learning alongside the students. While students focus on improving their language skills, teachers and staff are refining their teaching methods, communication, and cultural understanding. According to Ania and her colleagues, it's a continuous journey of growth for everyone, just at different levels and perspectives. It creates a dynamic and inspiring environment where everyone benefits. TaalTaal is much more than just a school— it’s a collaborative space for learning and mutual development.
Do you also want to learn a language, but in a fun way in a place that feels like home? The TaalTaal language courses started in January, but you can still register until February 14th. The next season will start in April.
