A true neighborhood staple, Dick’s Snackcar has been serving up tasty snacks and warm conversations since April 18, 1960. It all began when Grandpa Dick Kragt opened the very first snack cart. Back then, Grandma would ride her bicycle over, carrying freshly peeled potatoes for their famous fries.

In 1978, the torch was passed to Carlo Kragt, who proudly placed the now-iconic snackcar at its current location in 1981. Since then, it has remained a beloved spot where shoppers stop by for a delicious treat and a friendly chat.

For 65 years, the people of the neighborhood have enjoyed classic favorites like the broodje kroket and fries with our signature homemade satay sauce. Over the decades, we’ve grown with our customers’ tastes, offering a wide variety of snacks—including eight different kinds of croquettes, ranging from fish and meat to vegetarian options.

Now in 2025, the tradition continues as André Kragt, representing the third generation, has proudly opened the doors of a brand-new kiosk together with his father.

Three generations, one mission: great snacks, heartfelt service, and a place where everyone feels at home.

We look forward to welcoming you to our kiosk!
