On Saturday 15 November, Sinterklaas (St. Nicholas) and his cheerful helpers will arrive in Scheveningen Harbour on a steamboat filled with presents, gingerbread cookies and other treats. After a festive welcome at the harbour, Sinterklaas and his helpers will parade through the shopping streets of The Hague.
Arrival in Scheveningen
The day starts at 10:00 a.m. with the arrival of Sinterklaas in the port of Scheveningen. The waiting children and parents are treated to various performances. Around 11:15 a.m., parcel boat 070 will sail into the harbour and Sinterklaas and his helpers will wave to the children from the deck. As every year, Sinterklaas will be officially welcomed by the mayor and the Spanish Ambassador, Mr. Fernando Arias González.
During the subsequent parade, Sinterklaas and his entourage will once again visit the atmospheric streets of The Hague.
Programme in the Harbour (subject to change)
The programme in Scheveningen's Second Harbour is free to visit. Every year, Saint Nicholas is welcomed by many people in Scheveningen harbour. It is therefore advisable to leave your car at home and opt for a bicycle or public transport.

Harbour accessibility
Due to crowds during the parade, people are advised to leave their cars at home and opt for cycling or public transport. Those arriving by public transport can choose between various tram and bus lines from The Hague Central Station and Hollands Spoor towards Scheveningen.
